Contemporary and minimalist, this stylish restaurant, Champagne lounge and bar is housed in one of Leith's whisky bond houses (hence the name), making it one of the most venerable buildings in the
city. Low ceilings, oak beams and big sofas in candlelit nooks create a moody atmosphere, while service is notably friendly and informed. The kitchen ranges far and wide, taking in everything from
marinated pigeon breasts with roast celeriac and redcurrant sauce or baked coley with rösti, buttered samphire and sauce vierge to Thai seafood chowder, or teriyaki pork chop with pineapple chutney
and noodles. There are also bar nibbles such as baked Camembert with Parma ham and roasted peppers, plus a crowd-pulling all-day brunch at the weekend. Flashy cocktails are the stars of the drinks
list, and the alfresco space overlooking the water gets rammed on hot days.
