Escape the noise of the City and head down the stairs into Boisdale’s relaxed Scottish salon, where subdued tartan tones, comfy furniture and the sound of unobtrusive live jazz add to the welcoming
vibe. The menu lauds Caledonian producers and fish is always well received, from Hebridean crab tian or West Coast langoustines to buttery char-grilled lobster served in the shell. Otherwise, take
the meaty route with Aberdeenshire steaks with punchy sauces and sides, roast Macsween haggis with mash and bashed neeps or a robust piece of Tamworth pork shoulder accompanied by braised potatoes
and apple sauce. Desserts also get good notices – from cranachan doused in Glenfiddich 15 Year Old to ‘properly dark’ chocolate fondant. The whisky collection is exceptional, the wine list promises
plenty of wallet-friendly bottles, and friendly, well-briefed staff deliver ‘spot-on’ service with a smile.
