Three floors of Italian food, trendy drinks and good vibrations in a glorious Georgian heritage site on the corner of historic Covent Garden Piazza, 21 also boasts a vast outdoor terrace
overlooking the street entertainment and touristy action. The vaulted cellar restaurant is reached via the lower courtyards of the southern halls and offers a cosy mix of candlelight and intimate
booths – perfect for a romantic tryst or a friendly catch-up over a plate of pasta and a stone-baked pizza. The menu also offers sociable sharing boards, crostini, salads and mains such as rib-eye
with truffle butter or sea bass cooked in a paper bag with baby leeks, garlic and rosemary, as well as pre-theatre deals. On the first floor is the glittering Print Room – a dedicated cocktail bar
with two heated balconies, weekly DJs and a useful snack menu.
Growing up in London I was spoilt with wonderful places to visit. Covent Garden especially has always held a special place in my heart, having spent many an hour shopping, wandering around the lovely market stalls and then having a bite to eat. If you haven't visited before then you are really missing a treat it has some wonderful foodie treasures. I have written about some of them which you can read here. On the weekend Covent Garden is a hive of activity, with people milling around and making the most of their weekends. There is also the wonderful Royal Opera House and London Transport Museum to visit where children get in free...

On the corner of Covent Garden Piazza , housed in a beautiful Georgian heritage site is a 3 story delightful place -21 – a rustic Italian restaurant, The Print Room – a cocktail bar with 2 balconies overlooking the piazza and all the live entertainment it has to offer and the terrace located on the Piazza – a great way to enjoy the outdoors, drink in the hustle bustle, gaze at St.Pauls – all this under the shelter of huge umbrellas and heating for chilly evenings. When I first heard of 21 the Print Room at Covent Garden I imagined it to be this tiny little place with a rustic feel , when we walked into 21 I felt I was walking into a huge cave with tunnels well-lit and the aroma of melted cheese wafting around .The historic cellar vaults converted in a fab Italian restaurant have a cosy warm feel .They also proudly claims to serve the best pizza and pasta in Covent Garden - We were soon about to find out…...

This rustic Italian restaurant is located on the corner of the Covent Garden piazza and offers fabulous al fresco dining as well as an indoor restaurant. The ground floor terrace spills its merriment onto the cobbled square of Covent Garden, with fully heated tables laid under spawning white parasols. The indoor restaurant is located underground in a subterranean network of charming nooks and crannies, perfect for a romantic twosome or more intimate group dinner. Up the tempo in the third floor balcony bar, The Print Room, and enjoy the fabulous cocktails and bird’s eye view of the street entertainment below. The food menu on the terrace is a shortened version of the full menu available in the underground dining area. When the weather is so deliciously hot, however, there is no price too high to pay for a bit of outdoor seating. Marinated olives, feta-filled green chilies and a spot of bread and olive oil help to open up the gut for some major carb invasion...

Bestie and I meet at least once a month for dinner and a catch up. Usually I choose where we go, but this time she was invited by the PR of restaurant 21 Covent Garden to dine at their restaurant. Located in the piazza, a pretty prime location, I was surprised that I had never heard of this restaurant before. The area is a tourist Mecca and most of the restaurants and bars around there aren't that great in my opinion, so I wasn't all that excited about eating at 21. How wrong I was!Set over three levels, the restaurant is located in the vaults with the bar and a roof terrace on the upper levels. The restaurant is quaint and atmospheric and I think would be perfect for a date and as it was in our case, for a girly catch up...
