The Pelham is a luxurious five-star hotel in the heart of South Kensington. Based on one of south west London's idyllic streets, its grand facade is an impressive welcome before you've even stepped through the door. Once inside, The Pelham's interiors nod to the history and opulance of the area with gorgeous period features such as wood-paneled walls, ceiling roses and bold fireplaces.
The hotel's interior design straddles traditional and boutique styles, mixing commanding oil paintings next to colourful upholstery and artistic rugs to create layers of pattern and colour. This playful take is found across all areas of the hotel, including the main restaurant and private dining rooms. La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo is the central eatery and serves Italian cuisine that is both homely and authentic, while being innovative and modern. Across the menu you'll find nods to other cultures, including British, and don't forget to try the Pinsa, which are ancient Roma style pizzas. Other highlights from the menu include Fabio's traditional lasagne and slow cooked lamb shoulder, alongside desserts like homemade tiramisu. La Trattoria would make for a brilliant place to host friends and family for an occassion, whether it be a birthday meal or overdue get together. You can enquire about booking a large table or taking over part of the space, but if you'd prefer something entirely private, there are plenty of options along this theme also.
There are several private rooms but three which most lend themselves to a dinner, each in an enclosed, beautifully-decorated room just for you and your guests. Gallery One has capacity for 40 people and is a light, bright space with huge windows and pops of colour. Here, you can comfortably fit three to four tables, like a mini party. The Private Dining Room has a capacity of 12 seated and most suits one central table in the centre of the room. Enjoy the pink colour scheme and clash between striped wallpaper and floral curtains, which would make for a stylish backdrop for your event. Finally, The Library Room has a a capacity of 15 and has an olde English feel with rich, dark colours and high-shine wooden pannelling.
