Noma comes to Claridge's

rene redzepi noma 2011 - Ren_Redzepi_1.jpgIt’s set to be the hottest gastronomic event of 2012: Claridge’s have announced that it will be playing host to world-beating chef René Redzepi (pictured) for 10 days during the London Olympics.

Famed for his revolutionary Nordic cuisine, foraging skills and innovative take on ‘terroir’, the Danish superstar will bring some of his Copenhagen magic to Mayfair with a mix of signature dishes inspired by seasonal British ingredients. The pop-up follows in the wake of Thomas Keller's The French Laundry, whose 10-day stint at Harrod's last August sold out immediately.

Noma has topped the World's Best Restaurant list for two years straight since it stole El Bullí's crown in 2010. The kitchen is famed for using only regional Nordic ingredients with which to create its exciting, minimalistic dishes, including signature plates such as vegetable field with malt soil.

A Taste of Noma will be available for lunch and dinner in Claridge’s Ballroom from 26 July to 6 August, and Redzepi will be in attendance every day. The cost? A mere £195 a head for a five-course menu, including a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne – so start saving now.
