THE EVENT: ‘It’s your Party’, a showcase event at Madame Tussauds, with.themes, food and entertainment all chosen by the guests through an online
voting system.
THE HOST Merlin Events
THE MENU: guests enjoyed canapés such as swordfish with coconut cream, prawn dumplings and vegetable rice paper parcels, while mingling with A-listers. They then moved on to the World Stage Room for noodles, burritos and jerk chicken, served from street-stall-style food stations. The stand-out station was the Carmen Miranda dessert table – surrounded by shots of mango, banana and coconut trifle.
TO DRINK: Rio Daiquiris for those off the wagon and a soft punch for those still sticking to New Year’s resolutions.
ENTERTAINMENT: the Carnival certainly came to town with two samba dancers, stilt walkers and a game of limbo.

WE LOVED: ExceleratedApp’s innovative UpD8r, which enabled guests to share exclusive social media content on the night through RFID-enabled business cards (or zappers to you and me!), which could be used to ‘touch in’ at various locations throughout the venue and then automatically upload onto Facebook.
