London Fashion Week: London's most fashionable bars and restaurants

The fash pack might not be renowned for its love of food, but you can be sure its movers and shakers will be out in force in the capital’s restaurants and bars, seeing and being seen, during London Fashion Week. Square Meal reveals the top 20 trend-setting destinations for keeping up with the crowd.

Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental

Bar Boulud is dimly lit, knowingly suave and permanently buzzing – what’s more, it serves delicious cocktails and snacks. Since the bar is located in one of the most luxurious hotels in the capital, celebs should abound.

Cecconi’s

A perennial favourite for fashionistas out for a good time, Cecconi’s always buzzes with the sought-after X-factor. Check out the Prosecco on tap.

Dalston Superstore

Get past the bouncers to get to the goods at this East Village-inspired club and bar (pictured, left). It’s always the epitome of cool, whoever is manning the decks, and the cheap booze, industrial-style bar and big toons are manna to Dalston’s skinny fashion mavens – male and female.

Danger of Death

This dinky East-End cocktail club is sure to draw in the celeb crowds. If your name’s not on the list, you’re not coming in, so bring an umbrella if you plan to celeb-spot outside.

The Delaunay

It’s the new kid on a block that’s just across the street from fashion HQ, Somerset House – which should mean that this sibling to The Wolseley is full to bursting come London Fashion Week.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

After a year wowing diners, Heston’s London venture remains a hot ticket – and booking a table is still a feat. Anyone who’s anyone will want to check it out during their stint in the capital, so be prepared for some head-turning sightings.

Dstrkt

A restaurant, bar and club (pictured, right) on subversively seedy Rupert Street, Dstrkt attracts London’s young pretty things – so models and their entourages should feel right at home.

Experimental Cocktail Club

It’s notoriously difficult to get a foot in the door at this stuck-up cocktail bar, so pack your most toweing pair of Louboutins and retort to any nonsense with a sharp and practised ‘don’t you know who I am?’

J Sheekey Oyster Bar

A short walk from Somerset House (where the LFW action happens), this is the perfect pit-stop for the fashionista on-the-go. Snack on oysters and Champagne while you watch the front-rowers refuel between shows. Until 26 February, the restaurant is offering a glass of Pol Roger Pure and half-a-dozen oysters for £15.75.

Mark’s Bar at Hix

Descend to this hip basement bar, where the impeccably trained and friendly staff treat everyone like an A-lister – and you’ll find more than your fair share of them here. A second version of the bar has now opened in Belgravia.

May Fair Hotel

The official HQ for London Fashion Week, this is bound to be buzzing with model behaviour. Relax in the May Fair Bar while you people-watch, or check into a room for a sneaky peek of the behind-the-scenes activity.

Meatliquor

Not the most obvious choice for your average size-zero fashionista, but even dieting divas will be tempted by Meatliquor’s homage to the burger joints of America’s south (pictured, top right). Plus, it’s currently a major player on the ‘see and be seen’ circuit in London.

Nobu Berkeley St

Victoria Beckham is one of the most famous patrons of this chic and glamorous Japanese restaurant (pictured, left). Channel Posh and order the black cod – with any sauces on the side, dahling. If you can’t get a table, the bar is another cool hangout.

Quo Vadis

The rebooted Quo Vadis has been teeming with food bloggers and industry insiders since Jeremy Lee took over the kitchen. His simple, seasonal plates are sure to pique the interest of the ‘salad dressing on the side’ set.

Sebright Arms

This former backstreet boozer has been swept upmarket thanks to a sympathetic reboot and renewed interest from the Shoreditch posse. Designers such as Giles Deacon are regulars, according to those in the know.

Scott's

Square Meal’s readers describe Scott's as ‘the restaurant choice in central London’, offering ‘pure A-list eye candy’. Try the glamorous seafood joint for yourself – you’re sure to be in good company.

Spuntino

Jet-lagged LFW models will think themselves still in New York at this cool London tribute to Lower East Side dive bars (pictured, right). Expect to queue, but the food and vibe are worth it.

Tom’s Kitchen at Somerset House

It’s pitched right in the heart of the catwalk action and the grandiose setting and chi-chi signature dishes such as truffle chips with Parmesan are right up the street of the fash pack.

Wyld

Top models and rock musicians are the target demographic of this glitzy bar at the W Hotel. Kate Moss was at the launch party of the Studio 54-style venue, which serves blingy cocktails and top-notch Champagne.

ZTH

Vintage clutter, cool quirks and expertly balanced cocktails are the name of the game at ZTH, an offshoot of the funky Zetter Hotel. It’s a dinky set-up, so get there early to bag the best celeb-spotting seat.
