THE MENU: a suitably laid-back take-away pizza from Domino’s.
TO DRINK: Carling, Rekorderlig cider, Red Bull, Jagermeister, Sailor Jerry rum, One Water and wine from Majestic.
ENTERTAINMENT: compered by Jack Whitehall, sets performed by Kasabian, Florence + The Machine (Florence Welch also duetted with The Horrors), Pulp, The Vaccines, The Maccabees, and finally the ‘God-Like Genius’ winner Noel Gallagher.
ON THE GUEST LIST: aside from the performers above, the guestlist included Katy B, the stars of E4 shows Fresh Meat and Skins, Michael Eavis, Alexa Chung, Tali Lennox, Ladyhawke, Friendly Fires, The Drums, Annie Mac, The Enemy, Spector, Kaiser Chiefs, Santigold and the Hurts to name just a few.
THE TALKING POINT: Kasabian dedicated their Best British Band award to Davy Jones, singer with The Monkees, who passed away earlier that evening. Frontman Tom Meighan sang a large chunk of the band’s classic single (Theme From) The Monkees in tribute to Jones and got the audience singing along too.
