The man who fell to earth

bowie exhibition_mercedes destination 2013 - Bowie_Album_cover_shoot_for_Aladdin_Sane_1973_Photograph_by_Brian_Duffy__Duffy_Archive_resized.jpgOne of the greatest pop icons of all time, David Bowie has transfixed and delighted audiences across six decades. It's no surprise, therefore, that the V&A Museum is set to host the world's first-ever retrospective of his work, having mined his archive of more than 300 items. It's more of a shock that such a show hasn't been organised before.

From costumes, diary entries and handwritten lyrics to instruments and set design, the exhibition 'David Bowie is' will lift the lid on the creative processes of the chameleon performer who brought the world Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and the Thin White Duke.

He may not have performed live for more than six years, but our hunger for anything relating to this national treasure shows no signs of abating, so book your tickets now before they sell out. It's time to get closer to the star man who blew our minds...

‘David Bowie’ will be open at the V&A Museum from 23 March-28 July. For more information and tickets, visit the museum website.
