Private Dining

SYMPTOMS: We like to go out for a slap-up meal at Christmas but my colleagues aren’t the liveliest bunch, so we want somewhere with a bit more atmosphere than your average private dining room. Where can we go?

REMEDY: You need either a semi-private area, which shares buzz with the restaurant, or a private room that’s an attraction in itself. Somewhere with a spectacular view is a good talking point, or a chef’s table such as Launceston Place (tel: 020 7716 7887), Murano (tel: 020 7592 1222) or Refettorio (tel: 0870 400 9190).
