It’s official: Latitude Festival and its candy-coloured sheep are coming back for another year. And it has announced one of the strongest line-ups of the summer season.
Falsetto-voiced folk artist Bon Iver, Mercury Prize winners Elbow and the Modfather, Paul Weller, are all billed to headline the main stage, with indie miserablists White Lies, psychedelic goth rockers The Horrors and delightful eccentrics Wild Beasts topping the second stage.
World music is represented with the evocative Latin beats of Buena Vista Social Club and the joyful Afrobeat-tinged Amadou & Mariam.
And the other musical highlights are many, including – deep breath – The Antlers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Josh T Pearson, Battles, Apparat, Django Django, Lianne La Havas and Other Lives.
It’s not all about the music at Latitude, however. The quirky, family-friendly festival based in Suffolk also boasts comedy, spoken word, film, cabaret, theatre and literary bills.
Top draws among these vast and varied practices are Jack Dee, Russell Kane, John Pilger, John Cooper Clarke, Iain Banks and Sadler’s Wells.
Latitude Festival takes place on 12-15 July. For more information, visit Latitude's website.
