Hotel du Vin to open London bistros

Hotel du Vin Winchester - 384.jpgBoutique hotel group Hotel du Vin is to open a number of London bistros, called Bistro du Vin.

The first Bistro du Vin will be opened in Clerkenwell in April, to be followed by a further site in Kensington later in the year. The menus will be identical to those found in each Hotel du Vin (such as the one in Winchester, pictured), with wines selected by wine and spirits director Ronan Sayburn MS.

Hotel du Vin was set up in 1994 by top sommelier Gérard Basset MW and Robin Hutson, formerly of Chewton Glen restaurant in Hampshire. It was later sold to the MWB Group, which also owns the Malmaison hotel chain.

The boutique chain will be opening another hotel – its 15th – in 2011, when Hotel du Vin St Andrews opens its doors.
