What is the most important factor when booking a venue for a Christmas party?

Hospitality Focus London 2012 : Beyond The Olympic Park

It's not all about the Stratford site. Olympic hospitality is on offer at iconic sporting venues across the capital.

Beach Volleyball Horse Guards - 100907_LOCOG_MDA_DP_008_HI.jpgHORSE GUARDS PARADE

BEST FOR...Relaxed fun
Set against a spectacular backdrop of the 17th-century parade ground in central London, the beach volleyball could become this Games’ iconic event. The most exotic of the Prestige facilities transports guests from St James’s Park to a five-star beach resort. Expect a carnival atmosphere – the beach volleyball will be one of the liveliest and most sought after of the Olympic events. Packages start from £595 +VAT.

Greenwich Park Equestrian Arena - LOCOG_Greenwich_Park_Queens_House_balcony_View_091206.jpgGREENWICH PARK

BEST FOR...London back-drops
It’ll be impossible to miss the Prestige facility, backing up against the equestrian arena in Greenwich Park. The design features two towers, a 250-seater restaurant on each side, linked by a bridge, under which the competitors ride, while interiors have a refined, modern feel. The three-sided arena has been designed to showcase the London skyline as well as the sporting action. Equestrian will be a popular ticket – events like the dressage and show-jumping have broad appeal, especially with the prospect of royal involvement – but the modern pentathlon is sparking particular interest as Team GB’s women are favourites. Packages start from £495+VAT.

Eton Dorney - eton-dorney-rowing-canoe-kayak-flatwater.jpgETON DORNEY

BEST FOR...British success
Team GB’s strong showing on the water combines with Eton Dorney’s parkland setting to make this event a particular hit for hospitality. The double-decker 500-seater restaurant on the finishing line will channel a New Hampshire boathouse, with boating memorabilia adorning the walls, though contemporary British cooking stays closer to home. Action on the water starts after breakfast and is followed by a relaxed lunch. Packages start from £495+VAT.

North Greenwich Arena - 71747793.jpgNORTH GREENWICH ARENA

BEST FOR...Large groups
Not a new venue, but a sponsor-placating reincarnation of The O2 for the Olympics and Paralympics. There’s no separate hospitality facility at the NGA; the venue will make use of its 90 corporate boxes, seating 20, 24, 28 or 40, with catering by incumbent Compass. Because the boxes are private, it’s the only venue where the 20 guest per day limit can be exceeded. Guests holding tickets can hop on river services to the arena. Packages start from £995+VAT.

wimbledon hospitality 2011 - Wimbledon_2010-051.jpgWIMBLEDON

BEST FOR...Good value
An opportunity to watch the world’s biggest tennis stars compete at the sport’s most iconic setting. Action at the All England Lawn Tennis Club will take place on Centre Court and No. 1 Court, while hospitality takes advantage of the existing restaurants, debenture lounges, private suites and boxes. It’s a great-value way to experience the atmosphere for which the venue is famous, with a full day running well into the evening. Packages start from £495+VAT.
