Ladies, take a deep breath and sit down. For Idris Elba, star of The Wire, Luther and Prometheus, is back in his hometown, preparing to host a series of parties in hip north-west London joint Love and Liquor.
The Hackney-born Hollywood star might seem to be an unlikely music aficionado, but under the name of Driis, he has actually been DJing his own mix of UK and US house, garage and hip-hop for more than 20 years, and released his first EP in 2006.
Driis is set to enlist the help of some of his pals in the industry - and he certainly has an impressive little black book. Musical friends that Elba has previously taken to the decks with include will.i.am and David Guetta, while he has opened for Usher and deadmau5.
The first event on Friday 25 January saw superstar DJ Pete Tong take to the decks with Elba, so expect a high-profile line-up.
Idris Elba Presents 7 Wallace at Love and Liquor every Friday until 15 March. For more information and to apply for tickets, visit the Love and Liquor website.
