As
far from the local balti house as you can get, the Mint Leaf mini chain mixes cool interiors with classy cocktails and vibrant Indian food – a winning formula that we can vouch for ourselves,
having celebrated the end of this year’s exhibition there. The City branch seats up to 35 in a screened-off space at the far end of the restaurant – great for soaking up the atmosphere of the main
dining room – but groups might enjoy a touch more privacy in the Jaipur Room at Mint Leaf Restaurant & Bar in Haymarket (pictured, right). This 65-cover space is beautifully lit, with sleek
dark wood lifted by splashes of colour. Set menus start from £35 per person and take diners on a tour across India, from the coconut-rich curries of the South to drier, spicier meats from the
north. The room also has a projector, plus laptop and iPod connections, so groups can squeeze in a pre-dinner meeting.
