Glamorous London Fashion Week warm-up at Altitude 360 Black

THE EVENT: AW12Party – a pre autumn/winter 2012 fashion week event

THE HOST(S): Altitude London, Nomad Food and Design (who also took care of drinks and event management) and Fashion Monitor

THE THEME: pink and black

THE FOOD: hats off to Nomad, this was a formidable array.

Savoury canapés; sword fish brochette with light tandoori cream sauce; tuna ravioli with mango and basil tartar; squid ink buns with salmon wasabi lime and honey with baby cucumber; peppered beef fillet brochette with mustard cress and horseradish cream sauce; chicken mojito with mojito dip and fresh mint; chicken piña colada with pineapple and coconut, smoked duck courgettes and orange roll with enoki mushrooms; foie gras macaroons; pancake 

roll with cep cream and lemon thyme; grilled aubergine and feta rolls with fresh rosemary; goats cheese balls with apricots, orange zest and almonds; cherry wine tomatobocconcini with basil pesto; grilled vegetable clafoutis with red pesto.

Sweet canapés, white chocolate and winter berry pipette, raspberry linzer tarts, chocolate dome filled with redcurrant ganache on a Florentine disc, cheese cake crackers, raspberry clafoutis, an impressive nitrogen display (Nomad started the trend), strawberry and tiramisu cream, honeycomb with white chocolate sauce, yoghurt with strawberry granola, raspberry ganache with dark chocolate sauce, lemon meringue pie. And breathe.

THE TALKING POINT: the guestlist – fashionistas from design houses such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Ozwald Boateng and Vivienne Westwood. Oh, and the volume of fashion blogger Prince Cassius’s hair – impressive head topiary.

THE DRINKS: classic, apple and raspberry mojitos

THE ENTERTAINMENT: music from Organic Jam (from Sternberg Clarke); hair, makeup and nail treatment from The Powder Puff Girls

THE SUPPLIERS: sculptures from Ice Box, Options furniture hire and staff from Re-Recruitment

WE LOVED: as ever, Altitude’s all-angles view over central London take some serious beating, especially at night
