Damien Hirst at Tate Modern

(menu)

The show is going to be the first substantial retrospective of the Turner Prize-winner’s artwork in the UK, taking in two decades of his work with more than 70 pieces on display.

Those set to feature include Mother and Child Divided – a sculpture of a bisected cow and her calf – and The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, in which a shark is suspended in formaldehyde.

One of the most famous living artists in the world, Hirst’s exploration of life and death, as well as science, religion and philosophy, have captured art fans’ imaginations (as well as their fortunes) around the globe.

With Lucian Freud and David Hockney’s exhibitions having drawn huge crowds recently, and tickets for the Leonardo da Vinci show at the National Gallery exchanged for 25 times their face value, it would be wise to book now.

Damien Hirst’s exhibition at Tate Modern will run from 4 April-9 September. To book tickets, visit Tate Modern’s website.
