Hit the sherry trail

If you don’t know your Pedro Ximénez from your Palo Cortado, then it’s time to hit London’s first-ever Sherry Trail. The trail, which runs until Sunday 27 October, is designed to get the public clued up on this versatile drink and how well it pairs with food.

Sherry covers the full range of styles, from salty, tangy finos, to nutty, intense amontillados and rich, full-bodied olorosos.

There is a host of prizes to be won, too, including a trip for two to Jerez, the home of sherry. To enter, simply pick up a loyalty card from one of the bars below, then each time you order a glass of sherry, your card will be stamped. Once your card is full, hand it to the bar staff. Other prizes include bottles of sherry, T-shirts, aprons and books.

Eight bars are taking part:

- Bar Pepito
- Barrica
- Capote y Toros
- Copita
- Drakes Tabanco
- Fino
- Fortnum & Mason
- Hispania
