Northamptonshire have enjoyed mixed success in their long history with their greatest triumphs coming in the one-day game. But at one point in the 1930s they went 99 matches, spread over four years, without a single win. They have since provided England with quality players such as Allan Lamb, Pete Willey and Wayne Larkins, while notable overseas players to ply their trade at the County Ground include Curtly Ambrose, Kapil Dev and, more recently, Sourav Ganguly.
