Durham are the youngest first-class county in the championship, having joined in 1991, but the club itself dates back to the late 19th century. Though Durham have so far failed to muscle in among
the country's big hitters, they provided two of the key players who helped England win the Ashes in 2005, Steve Harmison and Paul Collingwood. And the national side have been playing at the
county's impressive Riverside Stadium since 2003 after it was added to the prestigious England Test Match circuit.
