The Standard is known as one of London’s buzziest hotels. Originally hailing from the US (where it’s already a big hit) it's now taken over a prime spot in Kings Cross as it continues its global expansion. Instantly recognisable thanks to its futuristic facade, inside the vibe is design-led and colourful with punchy wall murals, patterned seating and 70’s references. To say The Standard has options when it comes to hosting your event, would be an understatement. There are 10 event spaces overall and they each vary wildly in style, function and capacity.
If you’re hosting the party of the century, consider sultry restaurant and bar Decimo from Michelin-starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias at the helm. Its floor-to-ceiling windows deliver a dramatic snapshot of the capital’s skyline and there’s space for up to 400 people standing. For other larger soirees, snazzy bar and eatery, Double Standard, can host 150 standing and 62 seated and has a DJ booth ready to go, while The Library Lounge has a capacity of 120 standing and 42 seated, and works well for talks, panels and even podcast recordings.
For those blending work and play, The Standard’s unique townhouses have been created to offer something totally different in the world of events. Townhouse 8 and 9 have everything you might need to host an all day session whether it be networking, collaborating or showing off a new product. Here, guests have access to their own kitchen, dining room, listening area and lounge to take them from breakfast meeting to evening drinks.
Along a similar theme, The Standard is also happy to rent out some of its most premium and, quite frankly, jaw-droppingly gorgeous suites for the likes of press days, brand activation or drinks receptions. The Suite Terrace, for example, boasts a marble-topped island, cork flooring and outdoor terrace with views across London, with a capacity of 40 standing.
