Private hire venues don't come much more picturesque than the charming Anchor & Hope pub and restaurant in Ross-on-Wye. Situated in the heart of a famously beautiful part of the country - the Wye Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - The Hope & Anchor couldn't be better placed; the pub sits right on the edge of the River Wye, so much so that the spacious beer garden rolls all the way down to the water's edge.
The Anchor & Hope has the vibe of a welcoming country pub, but inside it's spacious and bright, with high ceilings, wooden herringbone floor, a smart bar with bar stools and duelling staircases which lead up to 12 rooms, which are currently being renovated but available soon for overnight stays.
Attached to the pub you'll find the Pavilion restaurant and bar, which is also available to hire as a private event space or private dining room. The large dining room has capacity for 80 seated guests and many more if you're planning on standing for a canape party or networking event, and the versatile events team at the Hope & Anchor is more than capable of adjusting to your needs, whether that means laying on finger food for a birthday, or putting together a delicious multi-course extravaganza for a big celebration.
Cocktail Masterclasses are also available for up to eight people, priced at £35 per person to include a bottle of Prosecco for the group, bar snacks such as olives and pretzels, music, a cocktail history lesson and quiz, plus cocktail making and drinking. Classes are available to book 12pm-7pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 12pm to 4pm on Sunday.
