Forget drinks at the local boozer, if you want to share some good times with your friends and do something a bit out of the ordinary, take a look at Sandbox VR - a full virtual reality experience in London's High Holborn.
Once inside the game, groups can see and hear everything in unison, as well as communicate with each other, as if they were in another world. Not only is this a seriously cool way to spend your next birthday or offsite day, Sandbox's versatile venue has a range of spaces to host up to 180 people and plenty of ways to have fun in the real world, too.
For example, have you heard about the UK's first permanent robotic bar tender? Situated in the main bar, Toni can stir, shake and mix up cocktails and mocktails to order, serving them straight to you and your friends. If that isn't a party trick, we don't know what is! From meeting rooms to a wide range of outside catering options, the Sandbox team have thought of everything. And, once the presentations and team building, or just drinking and socialising, is done, it's time to step inside the game.
There's a breadth of virtual reality games to choose from, so your decision really just depends on the interests of you and your group. You'll be able to fight your way through a zombie apocalypse in Deadwood Valley using a new range of weaponry, or head to the most ambitious experience of Amber Sky 2088, where you can become heroic Androids to protect the earth from a swarm of aliens. The most exciting right now, though, as to be VR Sandbox's collaboration with Netflix to create a Squid Games experience. Just like in the South Korean drama series, you and your friends will don matching track suits while undertaking eery tasks and fighting for your lives. Sounds pretty intense, right?
The only thing to note is that each game only has capacity for six people, and so while there are four different game spaces, not all of your party may be able to play at once.
