Nestled within the heart of the community, there are plenty of bars and pubs nearby if you fancy going for a drink before or after your meal, and several train stations are within walking distance ensuring that even those coming out of town (or ditching the title of designated driver for the night) will be able to get to venue with ease.
Mimi's concept is all about honouring the simplicity of Mediterranean dining and creating an ambient vibe. It's a place where the co-owners, Sam and Nathan, want friends to be able to come together over a good plate of food and bottle of wine, without too many frills. Modern decor, white tablecloths and the soft glow of candlelight make it the perfect place for a special ocassion; cosy and design-led, it lets the company, food and drinks shine.
Speaking of food; all of Mimi's dishes are rooted in fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Because of this, you may notice that some dishes come and go due to the produce available, but some examples of what you might enjoy include octopus with butternut squash, chilli and cherry tomatoes or braised lamb shoulder with parsnip, mint and wild garlic to start. This might be followed by the likes of beetroot, leeks, Jerusalem artichoke, shallot, feta and pickled pear or lobster risotto with Parmesan and dill for mains. Depending on your celebration, you might prefer something from grill like the Surrey-farmed ribeye or whole Cornish grilled sea bass with lemon and thyme.
Of course, no party would be complete without a great drinks selection and here Mimi's also does not disappoint. Expect an extensive cocktail menu (there are 10 cocktails in the 'rum' section alone), as well as a well curated wine list.
