Islington Blend really does what it says on the tin; located in the heart of London's vibrant Islington, this cafe-slash-cocktail bar offers a bit of everything from coffee mornings with friends, to speak easy-style nights and a place to host events, too. In other words, it 'blends' many uses, making it the perfect space for anything from a boozy birthday party to a networking event or branch launch.
The space itself is intimate and atmospheric, balancing period features with a modern aesthetic. On-trend wall panelling covers the bottom half of the walls, while huge, original windows allow lots of natural light in summer and the hubbub of the surrounding streets to leak in during winter. The interiors are stylishly bold, hueing the entire venue in an inky black from ceiling to floor, accentuated with industrial-style lighting, minimalist high tables and squishy sofas, for an eclectic vibe.
Catering is provided in house, with the kitchen team offering a delicious array of smaller plates, pizza and pasta. Why not kick things off with smaller dishes such as Nocellara olives, arancini and zucchini fries to share between the group, alongside small salads like rucola and parmesan, and insalata mista. Pizza wise, there's options for all, with combinations like the Calzone with Italian tomato sauce, Fior di latte mozzarella, basil and parmesan for vegetarians, and even vegan mozzarella for those who need it. Personally, we like the sound of the L' Americanata which offers a quirky twist with Italian tomato sauce, Fior di latte mozzarella and skin on fries.
