Hotel du Vin Newcastle

The old Grade II-listed home of the Tyne Tees Steam Ship Company is now a 42-room member of the Hotel du Vin group. The individually styled bedrooms come with free-standing roll-top baths and walk-in monsoon showers. In among them you’ll find some nautical nods to the building’s past – think porthole windows in those showers – as well as a trio of event spaces, all supported with top-notch AV and rapid Wi-Fi. The Shipyard looks out to the quayside and is flooded with natural light. The smaller Bridge leaves an impression with a giant mural covering one wall and, like its big sister, doubles as a private dining room. The Bistro, with French windows onto the hotel’s central courtyard, can also be hired exclusively.
