SquareMeal Review of Bluebell Cafe

Aberfoyle is a touristy enclave hard by the Trossachs, a stretch of Highland loveliness within striking distance of Glasgow. On the fringes of the village is the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park & the David Marshall Lodge Visitor Centre, which also houses the Bluebell Café; from its south-facing terrace you can marvel at panoramic vistas out towards the Campsie Fells. Call in for a bacon roll at breakfast, coffee & cake throughout the day, or get to work on a baked potato with chilli or a hot ciabatta. Best of all, you can sort out the youngsters with a sandwich, juice & some fruit from the children’s menu for just £2.95, then apply yourself to a generous salad caprese with a glass of wine, chill out & relish the view. It’s simple but decent grub, with the bonus of old-fashioned ice-cream desserts that can be walked off along the forest trails.
