If you’re on a business trip and fancy some comforting crispy duck, this modern Chinese on the second floor of The Millennium Hotel might fit the bill. The refurbished dining room may “lack soul” and service is out of the corporate training manual, but the kitchen has plenty to offer in the way of Cantonese-style food. Dim sum are served until 5pm, and it’s worth noting the set ‘afternoon tea’, which includes a glass of Champagne to go with your crispy chicken sticks, BBQ pork buns and scallop rolls. Otherwise, the hefty menu trawls its way through the full repertoire – from double-boiled chicken soup or soft-shell crab to lobster with ginger and spring onions, beef with black bean sauce or baked pork ribs with garlic. Also look out for pan-Asian additions such as crispy Thai lamb or pork chop with Malaysian curry sauce.
