LES COUILLIES DU CHIEN HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED
Translating as ‘The Dog’s Bollocks’, the Arbutus crew’s sense of humour is apparently as spot on as their cooking, and this bar on the same Frith Street site shows all the flair of the restaurant. The menu incorporates meaty offerings that other chefs tend to overlook, so warm pig’s head with spiced mayo make an appearance (and no doubt David Cameron will do too) alongside crisp lambs’ testicles (aptly named There’s a Load of Bollocks). Those wanting to stay away from controversy, however, can stick to boneless chicken wings or chipotle chili porterhouse steak. For cocktails, Give Peas a Chance (fresh pea and basil-infused Reyka vodka, Lillet Blanc and lemon peel) packs a punch, while wine diehards will be delighted to find a Coravin system in place which allows the management to pour some serious wines by the glass.
