Quickly established as a local fast-food favourite, independent Nanna Mexico serves up filling Tex-Mex fare at pocket-friendly prices from its tiny central Cambridge location. The ‘big ass burrito’ with chicken, rice, beans, cheese and salsas is a classic, but there’s plenty of choice on offer in the shape of tacos and tortillas loaded with a selection of meaty fillings and extras such as guacamole or sour cream. South American beers are on hand to wash it all down, alongside the usual soft drinks. Order at the counter, then bag a table or one of the ‘propping spots’ in the brightly lit seating area – otherwise simply grab and go. Nanna Mexico is essentially a speedy pit stop, but friendly staff won’t make you feel unwelcome if you choose to linger. Two vans also park up and deliver to local businesses in the city.
