CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT
A diminutive fuelling stop in tucked up off Theobalds Road, the Grill Market nevertheless has plenty going for it. Careful sourcing, with an eye on sustainability, food miles and good British produce raises the feelgood factor before stepping inside. The choices on offer, from bacon sandwiches and organic porridge at breakfast time to smart sandwiches - grilled halloumi with harissa, teriyaki salmon or sirloin steak with caramelised red onion at lunch or dinner, follow through. There’s a tempting array of healthy salads – pecorino with curly kale, walnuts and radishes, with a mandarin dressing, or Thai slaw, with a range of treats – chocolate brownies and the like for after. The whole ethos of the place is health, so it’s not surprising then that there’s no alcohol licence. Drink vitamin-fuelled juices and serious coffee instead.
