Joining its equally quirky, wee siblings in King’s Cross and Camden, Simmons’ latest kick-back lounge is neatly ensconced in prime residential Fitzrovia. A jolly mix of junky 60s lamps and garish gewgaws from car-boot sales set the scene for a range of fruity, flirty, if not entirely convincing cocktails – our syrupy Margarita and a too-sweet, one-dimensional Cosmopolitan probably wouldn’t cut it in more swanky ‘Hollywood comes to London’ hangouts. That said, there’s plenty to enjoy here, from banging DJ sets and a basement bar with retro arcade games to secluded nooks and unbeatable daily drinks deals (4-9pm). With teapot cocktails at £15, wines from a tenner and beers sold for same price as a copy of The Sunday Times, this Fitzrovia playground promises fun and boozy evenings galore.
