The Barbican’s best-kept secret is without question its rooftop Conservatory, an incongruous space that houses exotic fish and more than 2,000 species of tropical plants under its glass roof. Its treetops are overlooked by the large Conservatory Terrace, while the Garden Room on level three – more contemporary with City views – works well for drinks receptions, dinners and product launches. When the spaces are used together, they can hold up to 650 guests for a drinks reception with a light buffet, or up to 350 for a more formal dinner. They can also be hired alongside the Barbican’s conference venues.
