Looking for a striking backdrop for your wedding? You just found it. The former Victorian school building has been turned into a luxury hotel by Indian hotel group, Lalit.
The cobalt-blue walls and ceiling in the main dining hall of the hotel are the perfect marriage between the strong Indian heritage of this luxury hotel group and the history of the building. Its large capacity means big weddings can be catered for and there’s an indoor balcony and an outdoor terrace that are brilliant for wedding photos. The latter is also fantastic for a pre-dinner reception, should the weather allow for it.
There are two wedding packages to choose from, regardless of what spaces you hire.
The Wedding Package starts at £240 per person and includes room hire for both the ceremony and dinner. It also includes a pre-dinner drinks reception with an hour of free-flowing Prosecco and canapés. To follow is a four-course dinner (with a banqueting set-up) and half a bottle of wine per person as well as unlimited water for all guests, tea or coffee, and a glass of Prosecco for each when the wedding cake is cut.
Just looking for a standing reception in the evening? The package for that starts at £144 per person and includes room hire, two glasses of Prosecco per person, half a bottle of wine per person, unlimited water, six canapés per person and two bowl food options per person.
Need something smaller? There are three private dining rooms that can also cater for more intimate wedding breakfasts. The Headmaster’s Office is a beautiful space with an intricate ornate ceiling, an impressive Victorian fireplace and original herringbone flooring. The two Laboratories benefit from lots of natural light coming from giant windows and striking Indian décor.
Although the main restaurant, Baluchi, specialises in fine-dining Indian cooking with contemporary takes on the classics, the wedding menu can be made bespoke to your requirements.
