Tucked away in a six-acre garden just beyond Moorgate, the Honourable Artillery Company is one of London’s hidden gems. On the north side of its lawns sits Armoury House, which dates from 1735. The standout space there is the Long Room with its oak panelling and minstrels gallery. In the shell of the original Victorian drill hall is a more contemporary venue, the Prince Consort Rooms, where two spacious areas can be used separately or in combination. All of the aforementioned, as well as the Queen’s and Ante rooms, are fully licensed for civil ceremonies, while the garden makes a fine backdrop to classically English summer celebrations.
