Planning an intimate wedding day near Chislehurst in Bromley? If you picture your special day with a focus on great food and wine, gathered around a table with your favourite people, then a restaurant-based reception could be for you. And, in this charming borough on the outskirts of London, Bank House restaurant is the one to check out.
Set within a period building, Bank House benefits from gorgeous, old fashioned features from high ceilings to huge windows, while its decor is kept stylish and contemporary with a calming feel. The restaurant is set over two floors, but it's the upstairs private dining room that will host your celebration.
Rustic, exposed brick walls, parquet flooring and your own private bar make this space a show stopper and here, your guests can chat and mingle, enjoying canapes before sitting down for a longer meal. There's also access to a small terrace which makes for a gorgeous sun trap in the summer and works as a smoking area for those who need it. Across this floor, 45 people can be catered for a seated meal, or 55 if you'd like the entire event to be standing. If you'd like to invite more guests, you can speak to the team about taking over the entire restaurant, which is available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
All catering is proudly provided in house and on the website you'll find a list of delicious canapes, finger and fork dining options and set menus. From butternut squash arancini to broccoli and blue cheese tartlets, these canapes sound like tiny bites of heaven. As for the set menus, there's a few different options, but how does starting with warm crispy poached egg, followed by braised beef cheek and creamed potatoes with green beans, and finishing with warm bread and butter pudding with praline crumb and honeycomb ice cream sound? Plus, if you'd like to design your own menu from scratch, the kitchen can even create something bespoke just for you.
