These London venues are just what you need to host the ultimate summer do

City Summer House - venue hire

City Summer House, Shoreditch

Capacity 600

Walk in off Brick Lane and you’ll immediately find a tiki bar, food stalls and a dancefloor (sometimes used for silent discos). A selection of flexible party packages cover venue hire, a hog roast, a Pimm’s reception, a DJ, and garden games, while extras can include hot tubs, a photo booth and funfair stalls.
Sea Containers Events - venue hire

Sea Containers House, South Bank

Capacity 600

One of the big openings of 2017, this venue will no doubt be a popular choice for summer parties this season. Our pick of the spaces is Level 12 (which can be split into four smaller rooms), and its adjoining roof terrace, where the cityscape views get even better.
Barbican Conference Centre - conservatory

The Conservatory & Garden Room, The City

Capacity 650

The Barbican’s best-kept secret is without question its rooftop Conservatory. The delightfully incongruous space houses exotic fish and over 2,000 species of tropical plants under its glass roof.
The HAC - exterior

The HAC, Moorgate

Capacity 700

Tucked away in a six-acre garden just beyond Moorgate, the Honourable Artillery Company is one of the City’s most prestigious venues. The garden can be hired for a range of summer events: group sports activities include cricket, football, rugby and croquet.
Lindley Hall - venue hire

Lindley Hall, Westminster

Capacity 700

Part of the Grade II-listed Royal Horticultural Halls, Lindley Hall claims to be one of the largest uninterrupted floor spaces in central London. The elegant space also requires little decoration: its glass-vaulted ceiling and stylish combination of Edwardian architecture and intelligent lighting (controlled by an iPad, no less) impress all on their own.
Tropicana Beach Club - venue hire

Tropicana Beach Club, Covent Garden

Capacity 715

This ‘rum-soaked tropical oasis’ has the palm trees and beach-party atmosphere to get an indoor bash pumping. Exclusive use is the obvious choice, but smaller groups can take over one of two semi-private areas, each with its own bar. Once the barbecue food has all been eaten, guests can get involved with beach games like surfboard limbo.
