Venue of the week: The Roof Gardens
Each week, we pick one of our favourite venues and explain why it’s made the cut

When the sunshine comes out to play, we Brits find it hard to stay inside. So naturally those of us that are events inclined start thinking of rooftops and outdoors. The Roof Gardens on High Street Ken is long established as a top west London destination. And with its 1.5 acres of verdant gardens set 100ft above the streets, it definitely deserves its reputation.

What’s so good about it?
It may be best known for its outdoor spaces, but The Roof Gardens has got all the kit in place for meetings and product launches. These are held within the Clubhouse, which houses the Moo Room, a bright spot for board meetings and intimate drinks receptions. Daytime venue hire also includes access to the gardens, so make sure to leave time for everyone to explore. A quartet of flamingos presides over the English Woodland area, while the Spanish Garden is based on Granada’s Alhambra. We’d round off proceedings with a barbecue.

Why do bookers love it?
Transformed by Sir Richard Branson in the 80s, it’s still run by Virgin today, meaning you can expect the brand’s signature high level of service throughout. As an added bonus, event bookers will receive a complimentary two-night stay at the secluded Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains when securing a corporate function between 1 November 2017 and 31 March 2018.
