Maritime Greenwich celebrates vicennial of Unesco status

Royal Observatory Greenwich - park hill observatory

To commemorate the twenty years of Maritime Greenwich’s Unesco World Heritage Site status, the Royal Museums Greenwich and the Old Royal Naval College were illuminated for the evening on World Heritage Day.

The event saw over 100 invited guests gather on 18 April to watch institutional buildings like Cutty Sark and The Queen’s House light up. It also included the official news that caterer Benugo and it’s events division Clerkenwell Green will service all the venues that are part of Maritime Greenwich from 8 May.

So next time you hire a reception space here – from Greenwich Park’s Neptune Court for 1,500 to the planetarium in The Royal Observatory for 150 – you can be sure the canapés will live up to the interiors. Expect the likes of South Kent lamb with minted salsa verde and delicate white crab piled onto sweetcorn fritters.
