The annual team off-siter always needs a stellar venue to kick things off properly. Read on to see which out-of-town spots we’re recommending

Pennyhill Park Hotel - venue hire

Many of the 22 plush meeting rooms here include garden terraces and private entrances for a more exclusive experience. The self-contained Lyndley Cottage is one of the best for boardroom meetings of up to 10 people. When business is over, the team can unwind in the award-winning spa, which has eight pools, thermal cabins and a VIP suite for groups.

Ackergill Tower - venue hire

Perched on its own overlooking the sea, this 15th-century Scottish castle hotel is available for exclusive hire and provides a suitably secluded spot that helps to really focus in on the year’s objectives. The wood-panelled Great Hall is the most atmospheric for big meetings. Round things off with a golf-focused teambuilding day – there are three well-known courses nearby.

Mercedes Benz World - venue hire

This slick venue is found on the iconic Brooklands racing circuit in Weybridge. It’s close to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports – convenient if you’ve got international employees flying in. Apart from the usual meeting spaces, there’s also an 88-seat luxury cinema for video presentations. A fast ride round the track on one of its driving experiences is the perfect way to blow off steam after a day of business.

Laura Ashley Hotels The Belsfield - exterior

If you’re looking to host an overnighter for a smaller group, this Lake District hotel has sweeping views over Windemere and 62 lovely bedrooms designed by interiors queen Laura Ashley. As for the hard work, there are six conference suites to choose from. Plus there are budget-friendly inclusive packages from £269pp including meeting room hire, a buffet lunch, three-course dinner, bed and breakfast, and return trains from London, Birmingham or Warrington.

5. Ashridge House, Hertfordshire

ashridge house venue hire

Just 30 miles north west of London, Ashridge House is a Grade I-listed venue with a whopping 25 function rooms. Fairhaven is the largest of the bunch with a capacity for 250, but our favourite is the Lady Marian Alford for its panoramic views into the gardens and beautifully painted ceilings. Each room is supported by state-of-the art AV equipment and the on-site tech team.
