Take al-fresco dining to new heights by arriving for your picnic in Kew Gardens by…helicopter! The London Helicopter Club has relaunched its exclusive Kew Gardens Picnic packages, giving your group a chance to take in the views of the city (from the sky) before touching down for a spot of lunch.

Now, as Kew is London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site, the helicopter can’t actually land at the botanical gardens, but a luxury transfer will be provided from the helicopter base at Heliport in Battersea.

Choose from three packages: Premium Picnic (£660), Afternoon Tea (£575) or Luxury To The Max Picnic (£2,870). The Premium Picnic gets two people 10 minutes in the air (London Buzz), entrance to Kew and a picnic box to be enjoyed anywhere at the grounds. The Afternoon Tea has the option of 20 minutes in the air for a closer inspection of the sights, entrance to Kew and Afternoon Tea in The Botanical Restaurant.

If you really have big clients to impress, we would splash out on the Luxury To The Max Picnic Package as it involves a 30-minute ‘London Max’ flight with return transfers from central London to Heliport, as well as transfers to Kew. You also get a luxury picnic hamper on arrival at the gardens, stuffed with up-market goods (we're talking lobster, beef, saffron prawns, and quail Scotch eggs).

So, what’s in the premium hampers? No dry sandwiches here, mate! You’ve got dishes such as prosciutto, rocket and parmesan; crayfish cocktail; duck, pistachio and liver terrine; chocolate truffles; and macaroons. All of this with a bottle of prosecco, a bottle of wine and soft drinks. No messing about here… Oh, and the wicker hamper, cutlery, bottle opener and picnic rug that it comes with will be all yours to keep after.
