We look so you don’t have to: here are a few of our favourite 30-max-capacity spaces around London

Corrigan’s, Mayfair

Corrigans Mayfair - venue hire

Capacities 30, 14, 11

Not only can this glitzy 85-seater restaurant be hired exclusively, there are also four private dining rooms on offer. We like the Lindsay Room, which seats 30 and has a 42in LCD screen to allow diners to watch the action in the kitchen.

M Restaurants grill pdr

Capacities 24, 10

Notice the pluralised name: one property, two propositions. Sushi on the right and steak on the left – and there’s a destination cocktail bar on the mezzanine. It’s below deck you’ll find the well-appointed private dining rooms, though. Both offer set menus that cover everything from upstairs.

Searcy's The Gherkin - venue hire

Capacities 30, 18

Need we mention the 360° views? Or the fact that you’re in one of London’s most iconic buildings? Remember, though, it’s reserved for members during the day, so private evening bookings in the Perrier-Jouët and Chivas rooms are your best bet. You’ll catch sunset that way too.

Quaglino’s, St James’s

Quaglino's Giovanni Room

Capacity 14

This D&D London favourite is still looking slick following its refurbishment in 2014. Intimate groups will find themselves most at home in the Giovanni Room, which overlooks a main space that evokes the ballrooms of bygone luxury cruisers. Menus serve up modern European food with a flashy twist.

Hutong, London Bridge

Hutong - venue hire

Capacities 24, 16

Okay, so whatever we said about views, forget it: this place, found on The Shard’s 33rd floor pips the lot of them. Its private dining rooms Beijing and Shanghai evoke their namesakes, while echoing the slick, business vibes of the main space. The spiced razor clams are a must.

Clos Maggiore, Covent Garden

Clos Maggiore - pdr

Capacity 23

Often cited as the most romantic restaurant in London, this high-end Frenchie is also a classy call for business dinners. Tucked away among the fairy-lit cherry blossom trees, there’s a wood-clad private dining room that works well for all seasons.

Percy & Founders, Fitzrovia

Percy and Founders - percys den

Capacities 24, 20, 18

This purpose-built all-day brasserie brought a suit-friendly option to Fitzrovia when it opened. That’s not to say it isn’t characterful, though: Fitzrovia Chapel’s original stone doorway is featured in the main space. Percy’s Den is our pick of the PDRs, with its own bar, flat-screen and Bose sound system.
