Formerly one of the East India Company’s storage spaces, New Street Warehouse is a brilliant Christmas party venue, made up of four event spaces. Located near Liverpool Street, the venue includes a restaurant, cocktail bar, wine shop and fish grill. Upstairs is Fish Market, an informal setting for canapé receptions for up to 150 or seated meals of up to 60, while the cosier New Street Grill downstairs suits private dining and has semi-private spaces for up to 45 guests (or 80 if hired exclusively). Exclusive hire of the whole warehouse, however, allows for up 250 standing guests.
The New Street Grill festive menu pulls out all the stops, packed with hearty winter warmers. You and your guests might start with a spiced butternut squash soup with pumpkin seed granola or a hand-raised game pie with spiced dates. For something lighter, there are Severn & Wye smoked salmon blinis with shallots, capers and creme fraiche. For the main event, meat eaters can choose between a classic roast Norfolk Bronze turkey with all the trimmings or a 300g josper-grilled sirloin with bearnaise. From the sea, there's a Cornish cod loin with lobster barley and mussels, while vegetarians can opt for a pumpkin, potato, English truffle, salsify and cheese flan. Finally, you and your guests can round off your festive meal with a salted caramel brownie, minced pie cheesecake, vegan ginger cake or, for something a little more savoury, Cropwell Bishop stilton with grape chutney and oatcakes.
To make sure things last long into the evening why not then treat everyone to a drinks reception downstairs after dinner? At Old Bengal Bar you’ll find a hidden gem of a bar where you can party the night away with fine wines and fizz or a selection of bespoke cocktails. Here, there’s a small outdoor terrace – ideal for a breakout space.
