New club/bar The Shoreditch is pulling in the hip, ‘street style’ posse with its mix of cheesy decor, tiki cocktails, please-all platters, fondues & edgy live music (from kitschy pop &
electro nights to live ‘jazz meets’). House Merlot is £14.50, but allow £8.50 upwards for cocktail fancies such as ‘planet of the apes’ (rum, bananas & exotic fruits ‘shaken like a monkey’) or
‘Jack & Jill’ (a Jack Daniels, raspberry & ginger beer mule) served in garish tiki mugs. To share, there’s reggae punch or Studio 54 (a discotastic Prosecco & vodka cup at £150 for 10
guzzlers). Mini-flights of sampler cocktails called ‘tours’ offer the mixologists’ liquid take on Hoxton, Whitechapel, Brick Lane & other trendy neighbourhoods – so expect a hotchpotch of wild
& wonderful ingredients.
