The Gaslight Grill

Already a hit with the drinking crowd, The Lost Angel’s restaurant – The Gaslight Grill – is swiftly building a fan base of its own. Set in a more sedate spot to the rear of the bar, decked out with the group’s trademark eccentricity – a sort of eclectic Victorian steampunk – it’s a perfect spot for a boozy weekend dinner. Settle down with a choice from the lengthy cocktail list: a buttered toffee-popcorn infused rum, say, then start with a design-your-own mezze board. The main draw is the 28-day hung Suffolk steak – our Chateaubriand was a rousing, chargrilled delight backed up by a choice of 15 sauces. While the likes of smoky whisky BBQ sauce certainly warrant inclusion, others such as a gin aioli seem to just make up numbers. There’s grilled chicken and salmon for those not intent on beef while, by all accounts, Sunday roasts are something of a speciality.
