SquareMeal Review of La Pizzeria

Chelsea Farmers’ Market is packed with semi-alfresco eateries and La Pizzeria is one of the largest on show, with a high vaulted roof, open sides and a terrace hedged with lavender. The kitchen specialises in huge wood-fired pizzas with toppings ranging from a basic margherita with stringy mozzarella and basil leaves to a heavily loaded giardiniera with mushrooms, artichokes, olives and aubergines. So far, so promising, but feedback suggests something is seriously wrong here: ‘my grandchildren can make better pizzas’, commented one reader; ‘gives the London restaurant scene a bad name’, lamented another. Service also receives plenty of flak, from the ‘miserable’ staff to the ‘rude, angry manager’. Prices are eye-watering for the surroundings, even if the drinks list offers a democratic selection of Italian beers and wines. ‘Avoid like the plague’, advises one disgruntled reviewer.

we came here because we were told the food is good. However, the waiter was racist and disrespectful to us. No other stuff stepped up. We had to leave and we didn't order anything. We won't come back ever again.

RIP OFF
I never write reviews and i created an account just to be able to write one on this place! The food is below average and absurdly over priced! They charge £25 for burrata, £25 for a Zataar pizza, £5 for tomato and basil, £5 for a plain pizza dough, and £30 for 4 eggs! First of all we ordered the burrata and the waiter led us to think that it comes with the Zaatar pizza and tomato and basil but apparently he charged everything seperatley! Not to mention the bread he charged that came with the eggs! We felt ripped off, it doesnt make sense that a dough with Zataar on top costs more than one with meat! When we asked him he told us because its not in the menu! Honestly this is the worst place ever we ended up paying £80 for breakfast and we were a party of 2!

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
AVOID this place! Food is terrible, and unbelievably expensive. Service is awful, specially the presumed owner (arrogant, and unpolite). Definately not worth, terrible value for money... we felt completely ripen off by them. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID this place!

Giving the London Restaurant Scene a Bad Name....
Horrendous, awful, abismal. Little else to say, I can't think of a place I loath more. Please avoid this place like the plague, it was only after the hideous experience that I read the reviews… Go here if you like: Your service; late, non existant, non commital, miserable… To over pay – think £16 a really average pizza… That when you raise your concerns with the manager he says 'Yeah I agree but in the summer people come here so I don't care..' It nearly ruined a lovely Saturday down to Kings Road…

Worst pizzeria in London
I don't usually write reviews but the awful service in this place deserved a note. The rude attitude of the manager ruined what it was a nice summer evening with my family. Never again!

Oh dear!!!!!!
Have never written a review before but this place is so bad !!! Firstly my grand children can make better pizzas! My husbands food was too hot and very bland. We couldn't understand why the staff looked so miserable until we met the manager/ chef ? He was hilarious! Angry and not a very nice man at all. Awful food awful service .

I have never taken the time out before to write a review of a restaurant, however after the frankly shocking experience myself and a friend had in La Pizzeria yesterday, I felt this needed to be shared so people can avoid this place like the plague. On entry to the restaurant we were not greeted in the friendly manner you expect from any time of restaurant, there was a great deal of space free however it still took approximately 5 minutes for us to be acknowledged and seated. As we had a friend joining later we decided to just share a salad before they arrived and on trying to make an order we had to ask twice. The first occasion we asked one girl to take our order, apparently she doesn't take orders but there was 3 of them standing there doing nothing and we had to asked again. This time it was the owner that took our order, but also gruffly asked when the third member of our party would be joining. We were then moved to another table without being asked if we wanted to move, when requested that we hold onto the menus as we would be ordering mains once the additional person joined, we were refused this. (the restaurant had a lot of free space) So we ordered a Caprese salad to share, and when it arrived the portion was not what I would expect a £10 caprese to be, literally 4 pieces of mozzarella and a tomato quartered in a bowl that was full of rocket. I’m not Italian, but I’ve never had a caprese like this before. We tucked in anyway, and suddenly I came across a big black hair in my salad, we called the owner over to let him know what I found, and his response was “what’s the problem”? We replied with the fact that finding a big hair in your food when you’re paying for it is quite a big problem to which his response was “clearly you are just here to cause problems”. Following this statement we were both in shock and left. In summary RUDE Staff, RUDE Owner, and Vile attitude in this “restaurant”. Take a trip if you would enjoy the extra nourishment that a human hair offers in your food, and don’t expect an apology.
