SquareMeal Review of GOAT Chelsea

Bronze Award

Storming its way onto the Chelsea scene, this former boozer has been transformed into a “swish, Sloane-popular behemoth” comprising an all-day restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge, plus a huge number of terraced tables – all courtesy of the team behind nearby hotspot Boujis. Three floors of distressed-chic interiors are a mishmash of carefully sourced architectural salvage, so start things off with a fruity Cherry Blossom Bellini amid the pop of Prosecco corks in the upstairs bar. The kitchen’s take on Italian inspired food is in tune with the times, opening with the likes of beef carpaccio, truffle, frisee, fava beans, pecorino or sea bass, miso, baby spinach, fennel, pomodori secchi, imaginatively topped pizzas, rib-eye tagliata, 28 day aged, rocket, pecorino or dorset cab linguine with salsa verde, fava beans. Afterwards, lucky guests might even be allowed into The Chelsea Prayer Room – Goat’s secret 1920s speakeasy.

The Tomato Salad....... ever
A solo lunch at Goat, and WOW, the decor is wonderful. My lunch was good, yummy bread and butter, pizza, heavenly tomato salad using specially sourced Natoora tomatoes. With a small beer and small glass of wine the bill came to £25 which was a little steep, and I won't go again unless they do a special lunch offer. No wi-fi and they could do with an extra waiter.

Get your Goat!
This place has recently been refurbished into a funky cocktail DJ bar and Pizza East style restaurant. Food was lovely, I tried the yummy guanciale pizza with soft boiled egg and my friend had a gorgeous lobster salad of which I was very jealous! We shared the famous peanut butter cheesecake, divine! and then we continued the night in the very glamourous bar upstairs for some cocktails. Crackbaby shots are very moreish…one is simply not enough! I'd recommend this place if you want to eat and party in one venue, it's a bit pricey but hey this is Chelsea Beach!
