About

Just a stone’s throw from London’s Piccadilly Circus, this Swallow Street branch is the latest addition to the FishWorks family and a must-try for seafood lovers. The light and airy restaurant boasts a traditional wet fish counter where you can choose the catch of the day or select your favourite fish or crustacean and the experts in the FishWorks kitchen will prepare it to your liking. This laid-back West End eatery is in prime shopping territory so it’s perfect for ladies who lunch, and locals who like to watch the world go by while dining al fresco on the terrace. FishWorks, the brainchild of super foodwriter and chef Mitch Tonks, is dedicated to sourcing the very freshest fish that are sustainably caught so you can freely enjoy every meal here. The attached fishmonger makes sure today’s catch is the very best available and the proof is on the plate. Delicious!

Perfect if you like good food and service

Attentive staff. The food was delicious and we didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely return.

Excellent food

Took family there for a birthday meal and the food was excellent, staff made us welcome and although not the cheapest meal, it was value for money because of the quality.

Fish (definitely) works
To set up shop right next door to one of the doyens of the London restaurant scene, and to offer a fish and seafood menu to boot, you’ve either got to be mad or stupid. Fishworks is neither and whilst I will admit to a slight hankering to wander further up Swallow Street and enter the hallowed turf of Bentley’s again, all such feelings dissipated on entering Fishworks. A wet fish counter and a blackboard brimming with delicious sounding daily specials as soon as you walk in put you immediately at your ease – this is a place that clearly knows its stuf. My dining companion that evening was a tad late which meant that I must have changed my mind many times on what to order, such was the choice available. As it was, we both opted for the ocean grill – a generous serving of fillets of bass and bream with a scallop and prawn to top it off. As fresh as you like and all cooked perfectly. A simple, unpretentious place – I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try some of the dishes that made it to my short list that evening alone!

Pleasant surprise
A very pleasant lunch surprise, with dishes from the daily catch blackboard - delightfully light crab cakes with just the right balance of crab and potato coated with very good fried breadcrumbs, and generous monkfish fillets pan- roasted to perfection with ginger, chilli and garlic that put the monkfish dish we had had recently in a Michelin one star, Good Food Guide Top 50 restaurant in the shade. We drank a half bottle of decent enough Champagne throughout the meal, and the bill was acceptably reasonable for the location. Well worth a visit!
