About

CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT

Located on the High Street, North African restaurant Ayoush brings a little Eastern spice to the very British town of Eton. Full of individuality, the Ayoush interior is decorated in sumptuous silks and eye-catching colours, the traditional building transformed by a clever use of traditional items. Boasting an array of cosily intimate corners and a sunny terrace, Ayoush is as popular with those enjoying an after work drink as those feasting on the kitchen’s spicy, flavourful cuisine while enjoying live belly dancing. Head chef Ben Tilouche has created his very own take on North African cuisine, fusing Moroccan and Egyptian flavours with touches from the Middle East in salads, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.

Welcoming and authentic
We found out about Ayoush searching for a restaurant in the Windsor area. We like Moroccan cuisine, so this appealed. We were greeted on arrival and quickly shown to our seat. Not the best one, adjacent to the kitchen door and below the speaker, but it was ok. The decor is well done and reflective of North Africa. The drinks menu includes a list of cocktails – alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I requested a non-alcoholic cocktail but they didn't have all the ingredients so I was offered an alternative which turned out to be nice. My partner later requested a glass of Pinot Grigion, which the waiter didn't think they had – so maybe an improvement in knowledge of availability of the menu would be helpful. The food selection was again good, some Morrocan dishes, and some North African dishes. We sampled a tagine, and a couscous dish – both were very nice. We finished the meal with mint tea – something you should definitely try, it is very tasty and settling on the stomach. The bill includes service charge automatically, and turned out to be about £30 per head – fairly pricey but we were in Eton High Street, so its not overly expensive.

Sorry, you cannot spend SquareMeal vouchers here yet.
