This US import came from very humble beginnings, starting off life as a hot dog cart in New York. Fast forward to today, and The Halal Guys boasts a number of sites in both the US and Far East, and has now decided to take on London.
The concept is simple, with the restaurant serving up fast casual Halal fayre. Diners choose between a platter and a sandwich (which is just the platter ingredients served in a pitta). Each platter features rice, pita, lettuce and tomatoes topped with a choice of chicken, beef or falafel. The restaurant is geared towards the lunchtime takeaway trade, but there’s room inside for around 70 diners if you’re not in a rush.
